On June 20 and 21, 2009 two members of the Iowa Music Educators Association gave technology presentations to attendees of the National Music Education Week conference in Washington D.C.  This week long event consisted of several two day sessions on various topics including jazz, general music, performance, and technology.  Elizabeth Fritz and Chad Criswell were asked to speak during the technology portion of the conference as a result of their experiences and research into the use of technology in the music education classroom.

Elizabeth FritzFritz's session was titled The Promise of Podcasting and focused on Elizabeth's work with using student created podcasts as a way to teach music education concepts in an instrumental classroom setting.
