About the Iowa Music Educators Association

The Iowa Music Educators Association is the state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education. With over 500 active, collegiate and retired members, IMEA promotes "Music for All." 
The core values of this organization include the belief of the value of music in life and the importance of formal music education and the responsibility to members characterized by integrity, honesty, accuracy, relevancy and the highest ethical and professional standards."
The ultimate goal of this organization is to be able to speak for all music educators and students in Iowa concerning the importance of music education as an essential part of a formal education.
